Fresh hop season is upon us. And it comes upon those of us in the Pacific Northwest like a bolt of lightning heralding an end-of-summer thunderstorm (something Seattle doesn’t actually get that often).
This year, I might’ve had some of the very first fresh hop beer poured in the city/state/country. The venerable Latona Pub was given a cask of Two Beers Brewing 2013 Fresh Hop—from what I can tell, a wet hop Centennial ale. This beer hadn’t even been available at the Two Beers taproom yet when I sat down to a pint with two friends. The cask lasted perhaps two hours, kicking after our first round but before I could kick myself for not ordering another.
There’ll be plenty more fresh hop goodness to come!
