It’s a great time of the year for beer. But then again, what time of the year isn’t a great time of the year for beer?
Recent life changes (for the better, if you can believe it given the following statements) have forced me to reconsider $8 22oz bottles of beer. And $10 22oz bottles of beer. And $15 22oz bottles of beer. It’ll be particularly difficult to see some of my favorites released and sit on the shelf unpurchased (or purchased in much smaller quantities).
Fortunately, there is good beer to be had in smaller, more budget-friendly formats. Stretching my seasonal beer budget further is as easy as:
In addition to enjoying outstanding beers like the above, I’ll be forced to drink down my cellar a bit this winter. If I drink three bottles of 2012 Abyss and three bottles of 2012 Bourbon Barrel Abominable over the next four or five months, I can buy one or two of the 2013 vintages each, right? (Pretty sure how that’s how it works.)
Guess I’ll have that Velvet Merlin/Velvet Merkin side-by-side tasting sometime soon, too!
What a rough life.
