I’d moved this Ale Apothecary Sahalie from my “cellar” to the top shelf my fridge earlier in the week when the offer letter was signed.
Notice put in at the job, sun shining, an Autumn Sunday afternoon pre-Packers game—it seemed like a perfect time to open this outstanding beer. Serendipitously, Paul Arney (of Ale Apothecary) had posted something on his blog (Paul’s a great writer in addition to being an amazing brewer) that very morning: Storing, Transporting, and the Serving of our beer (AKA Do Not Fear The Pellicle).
This was a wonderful beer. Creamy, lemony, unbelievably ~11% ABV-y. It actually reminded me a lot of another one of my favorite Oregon beers, Seizoen Bretta from Logsdon. Would be curious to see what this would be after ~three years.
I’m obviously very much looking forward to the two other Ale Apothecary bottles I brought back from our trip to Bend!
Thanksgiving? Christmas?
